Building climate resilience at home through neighbour-led action, practical support, and community wisdom.

Many households across Birmingham are facing rising energy costs, poor housing conditions, and increasing climate pressures. For some residents, everyday challenges such as cold homes, damp, mould, overheating during summer, and high energy bills are becoming harder to manage.

These challenges do not affect everyone equally. Newly arrived communities and low-income households are often disproportionately affected, while practical, accessible support can be difficult to find.

Resilient Homes Resilient Neighbours @ Birmingham is a new community-led pilot project by Climate Transition 2100 CIC designed to strengthen household and neighbourhood climate resilience through practical action, shared learning, and neighbour-to-neighbour support.

Rather than offering advice alone, this project focuses on helping residents discover small, affordable, and achievable ways to improve indoor comfort, reduce unnecessary energy use, and build resilience to changing climate conditions at home.
